Charters And Nice Mixers And Ovens!

Wow, just in case you actually thought there was a big consensus emerging in the reform debate a lot going on in this issue of the Alabama School Journal (pdf).   It’s illustrative…Ben Smith has the political angle on all this, too.   But, don’t miss the sweet deals on stainless steel appliances in the back!

  1. The idea of teachers starting charter schools so they can be free to do their very best for students is a good one, but unfortunately “there are also reports of graft, corruption and missing funds in charter schools.” See the article in today’s Los Angeles Times regarding misappropriated funds by the leader of Green Dot schools. The potential for fraud in these schools is endless.

Charter schools MIGHT be a good way of improving education for some children but taxpayers need to keep a very sharp eye on their money.

I see an ad for discounts on kitchen appliances, not necessarily stainless steel. I guess Eduwonk feels that teachers don’t need to eat.
