Smart List: 60 People Shaping the Future of K-12 Education
As a former resident of Greenville, SC, I was astonished to see the Greenville area listed among the 10 worst dropout cities on The Daily Beast. However, I must say that upon returning to our native PA, it was apparent that the education that our children were receiving was deficient compared to the demands of the system they enrolled in. My teenage daughter was diagnosed quickly with a learning disorder that was missed for 9 years in Greenville. She was able to keep up with little difficulty in SC but quickly fell behind in PA.
What was really disturbing was that Mauldin was considered an exemplary school district.
