Overplayed?

Charlie Barone has more on the pushback to the gambit to suspend No Child Left Behind’s accountability provisions via the Congressional appropriations process. It’s pretty noteworthy. The NEA used to be able to shut this stuff down without breaking a sweat but perhaps the times are changing? This rift between some of the big civil rights groups and the NEA (and the National School Board Association, who had a big hand in this) is worth watching. And, if you read the letters Charlie is posting you’ll see that it has the AFT in a bit of a pickle…

Also, word on the Hill is that the end-run around George Miller was not recieved kindly…
