I like incentives, and even though the video puts that nice marketing glaze on the results, I’m unconvinced. None of the kids I know in middle school ever say things like “if only I had a cellphone with free minutes, I would try so much harder in school!”
There wil be kids that love this, no doubt, but if most kids react the way I and kids I know around the way would react… they probably think most aspects of this program are corny. These kids are New Yorkers, not rural bumpkins.
