Coming Attractions

I’ll be offline next week so J.B. Schramm, one of education’s most interesting characters, will be here to keep you informed and amused. J.B., recently honored at Davos as “social entrepreneur of the year,” founded College Summit in 1993. The organization’s results are impressive and they are helping to build a college-going culture in schools and communities where students have traditionally struggled.

For instance, the slide to your right shows a county in West Virginia where College Summit works and the statewide averages. As you can see, some statewide college aid policy changes depressed college going earlier this decade but the county where College Summit was active continued to see an increase.
