This teacher certification discussion looks like an interesting event.

I like these residency programs and other hybrid training ideas, too, but I’m concerned that as they become the “new” thing a lot of money will get thrown at them with insufficient attention to what makes them effective. It’s the methodologies that matter, the settings help that, but doing the same stuff that hasn’t worked for a long time in a new setting is not progress. Chicago’s AUSL, for instance, is not successful because it’s a residency program but because it’s a really good program that uses the residency model.
