WASHINGTON — Education Secretary Margaret Spellings on Thursday opened the door, by at least a crack, to a potential run for statewide office in Texas following the conclusion of President Bush’s second term in 2009.
“I haven’t ruled anything in or out, honestly,” Spellings, who grew up in Houston, told a breakfast meeting with reporters. “I love public service. … I love my state.”
