Pray For The Charters!

This development in D.C. has been brewing for a while and is likely a harbinger, you hear the same stuff elsewhere. It’s not surprising considering the demographics of Catholic schools, a lot of the kids, a majority in many places, are not Catholic but merely the result of parents seeking better schooling options for their kids. So, it stands to reason that if free, and reasonably quality, alternatives to the Catholic schools emerge they’ll be popular.

But it raises some complicated questions and some of the same ones that episodes like this raise, too. My take on the big issues here.

Update: WaPo ed board here.
