Must-Read Gordon

Robert Gordon turns in a must-read on No Child over at Slate. His top-line argument is right, but the politics are, as he says, complicated. That’s why transparency around AYP, test cut scores, and so forth along with clamping down on the shenanigans is vital. And ideas like the Ed Trust time for rigor swap that Robert discusses are good ones. For better or worse a federal framework married to state standards and assessments is what we’re looking at for a while.
