Friday Fish Porn – Small Edition!

Fordham’s Mike Petrilli is not afraid to go small.  When almost no one else would defend Virginia’s really small expectations for students, Petrilli rushed into the breach.  Federal role in education? These days he wants small.  School size?  He likes ‘em small. So, I wasn’t too surprised to see this picture come across my desk.  That’s not bait, it’s a catch.

But credit where it’s due. In the end there is nothing small about this picture.  Why? The most important thing in this picture – he’s taking his kids fishing. Great way to spend time on a few levels and a great chance to get outside.

Now say some really good news arrives in the form of national test scores showing that Boston students have made jaw-dropping gains in math and reading since 2003. What do you do? You give this great news story the real estate it deserves bury it.

    Great link Phillip, thanks. Word up. Too bad the strikeouts in the Globe story didn’t make the transfer to this site. But hey, everyone should just go to that link and spread it around.
