Friday Fish Porn (And Fish Pics) – All In The Merrow Family
It’s Friday and summertime, that can only mean one thing….
This week we revisit the Merrow family. Longtime education journalist John Merrow is no slouch with a fishing rod – and neither is his wife (or grandkids!). Here they each are with stripers – released so still swimming around – caught this summer.

And here’s a nice pic of John’s granddaughter that was too good not to include – and a good reminder that one of the easiest educational and fun things you can do is simply to take a kid fishing!

The striper that Joan caught measured 38″, much larger than my fish. I used the angler’s trick of holding my fish out toward the camera lens. (IE, I lied!)

Not sure whether to be more impressed with the size of John’s catch, or his amazing ability to hold it up with only ONE HAND!
(Remind me never to try to arm wrestle the man!)

Yes! But, I’m even more amazed by his honesty – I’ve never known a fisherman to say, ‘it was smaller than it looks in the picture…’

John’s wife is giving hard competition to his husband in the size of the fish they caught. Nice!!

To me what matters most is not so much the size of the fish caught. Rather is it the simple fact that it was done as a family activity! Priceless
