It Really Is The Economy Stupid
Turns out that this last election cycle even NEA members didn’t care a lot about education:
Additionally, only 8% of NEA voters named education as their top concern in choosing a candidate (20% placed it in the top two). The economy and jobs were by far their top issues.

I don’t seem to get your point. What the heck are you driving at? NEA member should be so altruistic and or idealistic that they are worried about an economy in free fall? You must be tweakin!

It’s hard for me to see how selecting the economy as the most pressing issue at a time like this precludes an interest in education.
