Maybe Bryk can fix their K-12 operation….the Miami Dolphins of Ed Reform.

Bryk is an excellent choice to follow Lee Shulman.

The comment from ggw is a bit confusing, since the Carnegie Foundation hasn’t been actively involved in school reform…no embarrassing player scandals, dismal draft choices, or coaching controversies.

Bryk is one of America’s leading scholars of education. He will bring new energy, ideas, focus and leadership to Carnegie. This is a wonderful opportunity for him and the Foundation. The Foundation just completed a major multi-year project under the direction of Shulman, culminating with reports on their initiative on the reform of doctoral education. This provides the right time for Bryk to step in and provide leadership for their next major steps.
